Shawbrook Bank Ltd was established in 1944 and became a bank in 1971. Over the last three years Shawbrook has acquired a number of businesses including Whiteway Laidlaw Bank and Singers Asset Finance.

Centric was established in 2007 by John Onslow and Tim Hawkins, and over the last 7 years they have established Centric as a solid company providing funds for larger deals.
This is the second major purchase of an invoice finance company this year. The other being the purchase of SME Invoice Finance Ltd by Metro Bank Ltd.
